
Meet Our Staff
The Seed Program has an experienced and enthusiastic team to support your child and family. We have eleven Master's Level Clinicians at Seed, including Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (LBA, BCBA), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT).

Julie DeMarco
The Seed Program Executive Director
Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (LBA, BCBA)
Julie DeMarco is a Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (LBA, BCBA) and is the Clinical Director and Founder of The Seed Program. Julie has worked in the field of ABA Therapy for over 20 years, providing support for children with special needs since 1995. She is a founding member of the Autism Society of the Mid-South (now ARMS). In 2002, she started Sibshops, a group for siblings of children with disabilities. Julie obtained her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and Research from The University of Memphis and received further training at The New England Center for Children in Boston. After living in the Northeast, Julie returned to Memphis to marry her husband and work as a Regional Behavior Specialist for Team Evaluation Center. Eventually, Julie began her own private practice as a BCBA, where she worked with families, consulted with public and private schools and gave professional presentations. Julie's professional interests include social skills training and advocacy. She desires to create an inclusive community for families of children with exceptional needs.

Tori Hanewald
The Seed Program Clinical Director
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Tori has been with The SEED Program since 2018. Starting off as an RBT and progressing to a BCBA, she is now our Clinical Director. Tori received her undergraduate degree in human development and family studies from Indiana University and her master's in applied behavior analysis from Ball State University. Tori is trained in alternative communication forms, PECS and LAMP, for non-vocal kids. Her professional interests include increasing communication skills, teaching self-advocacy skills, toileting independence, and classroom independence. Outside of work, Tori enjoys traveling with her husband, baking, reading, and relaxing with her dogs.

Adelaide Burrow Allgyer
Operations Manager
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Adelaide was born and raised in Memphis. She has always loved working with children and has a special passion for children with special needs. She received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education in 2017 & her Masters in Special Education with an emphasis on Autism from UT Austin in 2018.
Adelaide loves helping children and families reach their goals, and has been dedicated licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2019. When she is not busy being a Champion BCBA, Adelaide enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Alexandra Daugherty
Office Coordinator
Alexandra Daugherty is the Office Coordinator at The SEED Program, where she blends her background in early childhood education, behavioral support, and operations to ensure that both families and staff feel welcomed, supported, and organized. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and is RBT certified. She brings hands-on experience from both educational and clinical settings.
Alexandra began her career in education as a Pre-K teaching assistant, eventually stepping into lead teaching roles and mentoring new educators. Inspired to make a broader impact, she became an RBT before transitioning into administration at SEED.
Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys life at home with her husband, lieutenant firefighter for the City of Bartlett, and their two daughters, Sienna and Lyla.

Jill Young
Academic Director & Special Education Teacher
Jill, a native Memphian, is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a B.A. in English and an M.A. in educational leadership. After deviating from her original plan of becoming a lawyer, Jill discovered her love of teaching while tutoring students and has been on that path for over a decade. Her passion for educating has led her to serve children in many capacities. In addition to her work in general education and special education settings, Jill has taught homeschool clients. She has also been active in education for school leadership. When she isn't working, Jill enjoys spending time with her family, attending concerts, learning languages, and watching an unhealthy amount of Korean Dramas.

Mary Hattie Murphy
Registered Behavior Technician
Mary Hattie McAlister is a native of Memphis, TN. She attended college at Mississippi State University for two years where she studied Special Education before transferring home to the University of Memphis where she completed her Bachelors degree in Youth Services with a concentration in Integrative Studies. She has been working with children with special needs for over 8 years and has been with The Seed Program since 2014. Mary Hattie loves to make learning fun and interactive everyday! In her free time , she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her golden retriever Ripley. Some of Mary Hattie's favorite things are: spending time outside, visiting Shelby Farms, and college football.

Laken Chism Guest
Office Manager
Laken was born in Corinth, Mississippi and raised in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She graduated in 2018 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi and received her Masters Degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with emphasis in ABA from the University of Memphis in 2020. Laken has been working in the field of ABA for seven years, and loves watching kids learn and grow! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on road trips, and watching movies.

Yahaira Pita
Club Connect Event Coordinator/ Registered Behavior Technician
Yahaira Pita is a native Memphian who’s been at The SEED Program since 2017 as an RBT and in the past is someone who’s worked in several classes, Club Connect (social skills), and coordinated fun events. She loves being part of a team and showing up to a work environment with coworkers passionate about improving children’s quality of life seed serves. Her favorite pastimes are baking, cooking, decorating, organizing, and doing anything that allows her to be creative, and occasionally becoming a couch potato. She loves her family and friends, especially her baby boy.

Suzanne Lumpkin
Educational Specialist
Suzanne is an educational specialist with over 20 years of experience teaching students with special needs. A native of Booneville, Mississippi, Suzanne attended the University of North Alabama for her undergraduate degree in English and Mississippi College for her master's degree in Dyslexia Therapy. She then earned a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. Suzanne is also a Certified Academic Language Therapist. When not working, Suzanne enjoys cooking, reading, and soapmaking.

Adrienne Mitchell
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Adrienne is a local to Memphis. She traveled to Chattanooga to receive her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Tennessee. She returned home to Memphis and began at SEED in 2019. She started at SEED with her RBT certification in hopes to further her education in ABA therapy. Since then, Adrienne has graduated from the University of Memphis with a master's degree in ABA. As of May 2024, she has transitioned into the role of a BCBA with SEED. Adrienne enjoys serving SEED's children as they grow and develop

Meghan Witt
Elementary Classroom Teacher
Registered Behavior Technician
Meghan was raised in Colorado, where she found her love for working with children. She began her studies at the University of Northern Colorado. Over the past ten years, Meghan has worked in the public school setting, serving students of all abilities. She worked for five years in Colorado before moving to Middle Tennessee. Most recently, Meghan worked with a team of special educators to develop a program for students with mental health issues and behavioral disorders in the public school setting. Meghan is passionate about helping students achieve success, both academically and behaviorally. In 2017-2018, Meghan was awarded Classified Employee of the Year for CMCSS school district in Clarksville, Tennessee. In 2018-2019, she was awarded Classified Employee of the Year for LSSD in Lebanon, Tennessee. Her family relocated to Memphis for her husband's job. The move to Memphis has opened up a new opportunity for Meghan to work alongside students and empower them as they learn and grow. She is currently working on completing her Registered Behavior Technician training. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her two young children. her husband, and her pup, Teddy.

Marissa Hampton
Registered Behavior Technician
Marissa was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology at Louisiana State University in August 2019. Shortly after graduating, she moved back to Memphis and taught a kindergarten inclusion class for a year. She is currently in the process of completing her Registered Behavior Technician training and has enjoyed her time at SEED thus far! In Marissa’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, boyfriend, and pet turtle Ronnie!

Johan Torres
Registered Behavior Technician
Johan was born in a small town in Mexico and has lived in Memphis since he was 3. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Christian Brothers University in 2019. During his final semester, Johan interned at Harwood Center, where he found a passion for ABA. He began working in the field following his graduation and now enjoys having a part in children’s progress. In his free time, Johan enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and video games, as well as finding a new good book, TV show, or movie.

Shelly Campbell
Special Education Teacher
Shelly Campbell is an experienced education specialist with a history of working in primary education. She is skilled in PK-8 Education, Speech-Language therapy, Special Education, and Educational Leadership. Shelly attended Delta State University for her undergraduate degree in Speech Language Pathology and the University of Memphis for her master’s degree in Master of Arts in Teaching focused in Comprehensive Special Education. When she is not working, she is spending time with her family.

Alexa Dyles
Registered Behavior Technician
Alexa was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Mississippi State University in May of 2024. Alexa will begin graduate school at the University of Memphis this fall to pursue her Masters in School Counseling. Alexa has always known she wanted to work with children, and found herself thriving at Mississippi State where she was given many opportunities to help children succeed. In her free time, Alexa loves to travel and try new foods. Alexa is so excited to begin this new journey at SEED and hopes to continue learning how to better support children and their families!

Maddie Gonzales
Elementary Classroom Teacher

Maddie was born and raised in Memphis. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. After graduation, she returned to her hometown and began work at SEED. She has always had a passion for working with children and watching them grow and develop in their own unique way. She is very excited to be a part of the SEED team! Maddie is a huge movie buff and loves spending time with her family, friends, and dog, Kylo Ren!

Ariel Figueroa
Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten Teacher
Ariel was born and raised in New York. She has been working with children on and off since 1988 (babysitting her sister!). Ariel and her husband Eddie moved to Memphis in 2008. Ariel completed her bachelor's in Early Childhood in 2012 with a Tennessee teacher's certification for PreK-3rd. Aside from field work and student teaching in the Memphis Shelby County Schools, Ariel has worked at the Temple Israel Early Learning Center in all grades (5 years) and at Bornblum Jewish Community School in kindergarten (7 years). Ariel works hard to create a mindful, sensory friendly, fun, and educational environment in her classroom. She is a big fan of Abraham Maslow and works hard to ensure children feel safe and comfortable so they can learn! Ariel loves Star Wars, Harry Potter, and the Beatles. In her spare time she reads (and reads and reads and reads), writes (especially children's books for teaching), creates, and dog sits various dogs in her home. Her favorite place to be is on the couch at home with a visiting dog, her husband, and a good book!

Monica Areas
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Monica was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. She is a proud mother of six and has a strong passion for helping children learn, grow and succeed. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, in the process of completing her Registered Behavior Technician training and is very excited about her journey at The Seed Program. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to live music, staying active with Zumba fitness and sharing plenty of love and laughter with her two dogs, Arbenie & Bella!
Monica is a proud Memphis native and mother of two with over 10 years of experience in early childhood development and teaching. Her journey led her to discover her true passion when she transitioned into ABA therapy. Growing up in a neurodivergent household, with a younger brother on the autism spectrum, Monica learned early on the importance of patience, compassion, and advocacy.
She was inspired to join the Seed family, where she is grateful for the opportunity to work closely with neurodivergent children and their families. She states. “The joy I find in providing hands-on support, helping children build confidence, and watching them flourish in their own unique ways is truly unmatched.”

Jenni Flores
Behavior Technician
Jennifer was born and raised in Memphis. Her passion is singing, as she says it's her way of expressing herself. Working with children brings her joy because "There’s no greater blessing than watching a child grow and develop." She is grateful to SEED for giving her the opportunity to work with a great team who is eager to improve the children's life skills. Jenni enjoys volunteer work because it's a great way to engage with new people and get involved in the community. During her spare time, she likes to read and spend quality time with friends and family.

Sarah Pruett VanderSteeg
Behavior Coordinator
Sarah was born and raised in Memphis. She graduated in 2013 from Mississippi State University with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies/ Emphasis in Child Life. She completed an internship in Child Life at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children before graduating and went on to pursue a certification in Child Life. Following graduation, she worked at LeBonheur Children's Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist in the NICU. Over the past several years, Sarah has pursued her passion for helping children with special needs, and she has a special heart for supporting staff, administration, and families in their critical work.
During her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children, walking, and catching up with friends.

Sarah Holder
Registered Behavior Technician
Sarah grew up in Union City, Tennessee and moved to Memphis in 2000. She started her education journey at UT Martin and finished with an undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Southwest Tennessee Community College. While working in public school, she discovered her passion for working with children with special needs. She quickly segued into becoming a SpEd paraprofessional, and after 6 years she decided to take her career to its next level at SEED where she is training to become an RBT! In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, her 3 daughters, and her Boxer, Smokey. She also delights in traveling, solving large jigsaw puzzles, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Suzanna Autry
Registered Behavior Technician
Suzanna was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis in 2019, and is currently working on her Master's degree in ABA through the University of Arizona. Suzanna began working in an early learning program shortly after graduation, where she discovered a passion for helping kids learn and grow through play. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with friends, reading, and cuddling with her sweet dog, Rosie!

Ileana Real
Registered Behavior Technician
Ileana was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Memphis. She has worked at SEED since 2022 and gained her RBT certification while at SEED. She enjoys being part of the SEED team and is grateful for the opportunity to gain more knowledge to help children grow and thrive! Ileana explains that having a brother with down syndrome who is also on the spectrum has inspired her passion to work with children and help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals. She loves spending time with family and friends and her dog, Coco! In her free time, she enjoys shopping, traveling(especially to the beach!), exploring places to eat, and watching movies and shows.

Camille Grant
Registered Behavior Technician
Camille was born in Newnan, Georgia and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Camille has always worked with children. She has a strong passion for children and became interested in the ABA field her sophomore year of college. She obtained her RBT certification and is so excited to further her knowledge in this field. She is so excited for this opportunity to serve all the children at SEED. During her spare time, Camille loves to spend time with family and friends, go to Tennessee football games, eat Crumbl cookies, go to the beach, or have a movie night.

Rachel Bryan
Registered Behavior Technician
Rachel was born in St. Louis, Missouri and raised in DeWitt, Arkansas. She attended the University of Mississippi where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After graduating, she began to work with children and was introduced to the field of ABA. She gained her RBT certification in 2022 and has not looked back since! In her free time, Rachel loves running, baking, traveling, and hanging out with her dogs, Beau and Jackson!

Mica Henry
Registered Behavior Technician
Mica is from Knoxville, Tennessee and recently moved to Memphis. She is finishing her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice and will graduate in the beginning of 2026. She started working with children when she was 16 as a swim instructor and continued to advocate for adaptive swim lessons while working as an Aquatics Coordinator. After learning about ABA in school, she gained her RBT certification in October of 2024 and worked in a Knoxville clinic. In her free time, she enjoys art, cooking, and traveling.

Mary Grace Criswell
Behavior Technician
Mary Grace was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated with her bachelors in Marketing from Mississippi State. She has always had a love for working with children and is thankful for the opportunity to do it at Seed. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working out and baking in her spare time! Mary Grace is eager to learn and grow in her new journey at Seed!
